The city of Sorocaba has a marketing unit for vegetables (warehouse) to meet the needs of local merchants and neighboring cities. The CEAGESP Sorocaba is the only CEAGESP unit (except the one in São Paulo) that works both for retail and wholesale purchases (large quantities for resale). The unit opens the doors to the famous varejão on specific days, check it out below.
A very important activity developed by the Companhia de Entrepostos e Armazéns Gerais (CEAGESP) is the warehouse (deposit or sale of goods). In the case of CEAGESP, its 13 wholesale warehouses function as a meeting point for producers and traders.
The units in the capital and in the countryside operate as distribution channels for regional production for open-air markets, supermarkets, grocery stores, restaurants and fruit and vegetable distributors. At the same time they contribute to the flow of crops, they move the wholesale and retail trade and lower costs for the consumer.
One of the actions that takes place at CEAGESP and that positively and significantly affects society is the Food Bank, which constitutes an important instrument of social responsibility against waste and hunger. The CEAGESP food bank (BCA) was created in 2003 in the city of São Paulo, with the objective of collecting, selecting and distributing food to municipal food banks and also to social entities in the State of São Paulo . The project is already in 10 warehouses in the interior, and Sorocaba is one of them.
The CEAGESP makes a link that runs through the entire production and marketing chain of these products, allowing the rural producer and final consumer to come closer. When the consumer buys any of these products (fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, miscellaneous, fish and grains) whether at fairs, super and hypermarkets, restaurants or grocery stores, this merchandise has most likely been purchased through a CEAGESP.
Likewise, it can also be concluded that companies need agribusiness, because without the producer, it is not possible to obtain goods to carry out their activities. These points also highlight the importance of agribusiness in Brazil, which generates numerous benefits, such as: high competitiveness, high degree of use of technology, generation of jobs and wealth for the country.

Warehouse is the name given to the place where different types of products are sold, in the case of CEAGESP Sorocaba it is where the sale of vegetables, fruits, vegetables and flowers takes place. Already the warehouse is like the stock of non-perishable foods like sugar and grains. The Sorocaba unit does not have a warehouse.
